Flex-fuel: The general public is very upset due to the rapidly increasing petrol-diesel prices every day. The prices of petrol and diesel have crossed Rs 100, after which the government is planning to reduce the dependence of petrol and diesel in the country. The central government is planning to bring flex-fuel in the country soon. These days you all must be hearing about flex-fuel cars and flex-fuel, but do you know what is flex-fuel after all? Let us tell you what this fuel is-

What is flex-fuel after all?

As the name suggests - Flex-Fuel lets you run your car on fuel mixed with ethanol. Let us tell you that there is an alternative fuel made from a combination of gasoline and methanol or ethanol. In comparison to an EV, a flex-engine is basically a standard petrol engine, with some additional components that run on more than one fuel or mixture. Hence, flex engines are manufactured at a lower cost as compared to EVs. The government is working fast on this.

Flex fuel may be mandatory in 6 months

According to the news of PTI, Nitin Gadkari said in a recent program that the government is going to make Flex Fuel Engine mandatory in the next 6 months. He said that this rule will be made for all types of vehicles. Apart from this, orders will be given to all auto companies to fit flex fuel engines in their vehicles.

The government may soon

announce the guidelines and will force the car manufacturers to offer flex fuel engines in the future. Also being more practical than EVs, the current fuel pumps will offer bio-fuel along with petrol/diesel. Let us tell you that the cost of bioethanol is much less per liter than petrol.

Will be able to drive cheaply,

if Flex fuel engine becomes mandatory, then people will be able to drive their vehicles with ethanol too. The price of ethanol is Rs 65-70 per liter, while petrol is currently priced above Rs 100 per litre.

How are Flex Fuel Engines

Let us tell you that vehicles with flex engines are quite different from vehicles with by-fuel engines. There are different tanks in the by flue engine. At the same time, in flex fuel engine, you will be able to put many types of fuel in the same tank. Such engines are specially designed. Nitin Gadkari is talking about installing such engines in vehicles.
