T20 World Cup: Big decision of BCCI before India-Pakistan match, 4 players of Team India sent back

The Indian team has to play its first match of the World Cup against Pakistan on 24 October. These four bowlers were present in Dubai with Team India as spinners.

The first match of the Indian team in the T20 World Cup (ICC T20 World Cup 2021) is now just a few hours away. The Indian team will start its journey against Pakistan in Dubai on Sunday 24 October. For this match, the Indian team is busy in its preparations vigorously in Dubai itself. Team India also played two practice matches and won both. However, even before playing its first match, Team India has returned some bowlers to India. In connection with the preparations for the World Cup, many bowlers were stopped in Dubai along with the Indian team to help practice in the nets, but now 4 of these bowlers have been returned to India. However, even after this, there will be 4 other bowlers with Virat Kohli and his team, who will help in the preparations till the entire tournament.

After the IPL 2021 season that ended a few days ago in the UAE, 8 bowlers were added as 'net bowlers' along with the Indian team. According to the report of news agency PTI, now spinners Karn Sharma, Shahbaz Ahmed, Krishnappa Gautam and Venkatesh Iyer have returned to the country. These four players will now be available for their respective states in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Apart from these, Avesh Khan, Umran Malik, Harshal Patel and Lukman Meriwala were also stopped along with the team in the Bio-Bubble of Dubai. These four bowlers will remain with the team till the end.

Due to this the bowlers were returned

The Indian team has to play 5 matches in its group of Super-12 and after that if the team progresses, then there will be a chance to play semi-finals and finals. There is only a gap of days between all these matches and in such a situation, there will not be much time for preparation and hence it was decided to send them back. A senior board official told news agency PTI, “There will not be so many net sessions once the tournament starts. The national selectors felt that these bowlers would get match practice by playing the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament is starting from November 4.

Returned the spinners, kept the pacers together

There are 3 spinners in the four sent back bowlers, while Venkatesh Iyer is a medium pacer. The Indian squad selected for the World Cup already has 4 major spinners in the form of Rahul Chahar, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin and Varun Chakraborty. There are 4 pacers in the form of Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Deepak Chahar and Shardul Thakur.

However, the four stopped bowlers also bowl fast, in which the team will need practice in the evening of the fast pace of Umran Malik and Avesh Khan. On the other hand, Harshal Patel makes tremendous use of slower balls and practice against it in the UAE will prove to be important. Unlike them, Lukman Meriwala is a left-arm pacer and there is no left-arm fast bowler in Team India, while the opposition teams of India, including Pakistan and New Zealand, have many left-arm pacers. So it has been decided to stop Meriwala.
