1.9 crore customers left Jio, Airtel in profit

According to the data, in the month of September, Jio has lost about 19 million customers, that is, these customers left Jio. At the same time, Bharti Airtel has added 2.74 lakh customers in the same period.

Reliance Jio has received a setback in the new figures of the Telecom Regulatory Authority (TRAI). According to the data, in the month of September, Jio has lost about 19 million customers, that is, these customers left Jio. At the same time, Bharti Airtel has added 2.74 lakh customers in the same period. Airtel's subscriber base reached 35.44 million in September, up from 35.41 million users in August. In comparison, the country's largest telecom operator Reliance Jio had 42.48 million mobile users.

At the same time, Vodafone-Idea's time is not going well. 10.77 lakh customers left Voda-Idea in September and it now has 26.99 crore mobile users.

The TRAI report shows that in the month of September, Airtel increased its market share of mobile users by 0.08%, while Jio's user base registered a decline of 4.29%. Remember that Reliance Jio, while announcing the results for the September quarter, had disclosed about the loss of users and talked about it in detail.

Kiran Thomas, president of Reliance Jio Infocomm, had said that in the second quarter of the financial year 2022, Kovid has been a challenge for many people of our country, especially the lower class. He said that during the peak of the second wave, we had taken a lot of initiatives. We were giving free voice minutes to keep people connected to our network, but a large number of people were unable to stay up to date on recharge. According to the policy, the company had kept these in its database for about 90 days.

Thomas had said that the effect of these users is now visible on our total subscriber count. For this reason, there is a direct shortfall of about 1.1 crores in this quarter.

TRAI's figures also show that in August, the total number of mobile users in the country was 180 crore, which came down to 160 crore at the end of September, ie a monthly decline of 1.74% in the number of total mobile users.
